A 38-year-old man has been arrested for his alleged involvement in the murder of a farm manager in Cookhouse on the farm premises on June 1.
According to police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Majola Nkohli, on June 1 at about 19:15, it is alleged that two unknown men armed with firearms entered the farm.
He said the suspects held the occupants at gunpoint and demanded they hand over the keys of their vehicle.
“It is said that one of the suspects shot and killed a farm manager. The suspects then managed to steal the keys of a vehicle on the farm as well as cellphones before fleeing the scene,” said Nkohli.
He said the vehicle which was stolen is a Toyota Club Cab with registration number CAA 455.
Nkohli said police immediately launched a manhunt for the two suspects and preliminary investigation led them to Bedford where one suspect was arrested at a house in the area on June 2.
“The suspect will appear in court soon,” said Nkohli.
