SAB Regional League stream B leaders Seven Stars won 3-1 on Saturday afternoon, beating Valgas FC in a Komani derby at the Dumpy Adams Sports Complex in Komani to maintain their lead at the top of the table.

Stars’ goals came from former Amavarara winger, Brenton Jackson, last season’s team top goal scorer, Megan Hector and Avene Mhlalisi, who scored against his former side.

Now Stars are at the top with a hefty goal difference.

They are level on 17 points with Molteno Cosmos, having played eight games each.

“We controlled the game well in the first half and it was a question of time before we scored,” said Seven Stars coach, Willie Kepkey.

The coach has downplayed his team’s rise to the top of the stream and insists they are taking things one game at a time.

“We are level on points with Cosmos, so there is a lot of work to be done in the team. We are just trying to figure out what we need to do to dominate more‚ to set up more opportunities to score with the right movements and also try not to concede goals in the league,” he said.

Seven Stars’ next league match will be another home game, when they welcome newcomers Ilinge side, Two For Joy, on Sunday afternoon at the Dumpy Adams Sports Complex in Komani.
