A second suspect, Vuyani Khahlana (44), has been arrested, allegedly for the murder
of Zintle Takane (24) whose body was found buried in a grave in KwaMaqoma (Fort
Beaufort) on June 4
.

As previously reported, police spokesperson,
Lieutenant Colonel Siphokazi Mawisa said Takane’s body was found buried in a
grave in KwaMaqoma on June 4, four days after she was seen leaving with her boyfriend
in his white Mercedes-Benz.

She
said Takane’s boyfriend, Sakhumzi Mhaga (34), was arrested for her alleged
murder while Khahlana was arrested at a later stage.

Mawisa
said the two appeared at the Fort Beaufort Magistrate Court on June 7.

“Thorough investigation by police led to the arrest of the
second suspect. He was taken in for questioning and was later charged with
murder,” said Mawisa.

She further said they will remain in custody and
will appear again at the Fort Beaufort Magistrate Court on
June 19, for a formal bail application.
