THE Retired Nurses Forum has been established at Dr Beyers Naude Municipality.

Sister Thandeka Majoka is a founding member and was joined by 10 other nurses.

Their vision is to create recognition for retired nurses as she said they could not vanish and a forum would ensure their self-esteem and morale.

Instead of sitting in isolation, this forum could also assist in creating some opportunities for others in the profession and facilitate a need for proper health care.

They will also share their wisdom with younger nurses.

Majoka invites all interested nurses to join them and take hands so that they can transfer their wisdom to the next generation.

As she said, they might be retired but they are not tired.

These nurses have experience in paediatrics, midwifery, primary healthcare, orthopaedic care and management of other nurses, and still continue to play a vital role in awareness campaigns.

They are heavily involved in the cancer awareness campaigns in particular.

The next meeting will be held on February 7, 2019 at 10:00 in Middle Street and everyone is invited.

For more information regarding the forum, contact Majoka on 072 442 1222.
