The Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality has informed residents that the six month project to provide at least 202 houses in Molteno (Airstrip area) with electricity which began in September, is ahead of schedule.

As previously reported by the Komani-Karoo Express, on September 28, Ward 28 Councillor Nombulelo Makasi introduced the contractor for the electrification project.

According to the municipality, since the project began two months ago, the contractors have been able to complete over 50% of the project which puts them ahead of schedule.

“Poles, conductors, a transformer and all material has been delivered to the site,” the municipality said in a statement.

The project is valued at R3.7 million and local laborers are participating in the project.
