Police are investigating a case of murder after the body of a 65-year-old man was found on August 30, in a farmhouse that is situated near the R390 between Hofmeyr and Cradock.
According to police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Majola Nkohli, on Wednesday, August 30 at around 09:30, police were summoned to a murder scene at a farm outside Cradock.
“At the scene, the body of an elderly man was found with stab wounds in the upper body,” said Nkohli.
“The deceased person is known, but his identity is being withheld until a formal identification process is concluded.”
Nkohli said that moments later, the victim’s vehicle was found abandoned in Conway Road, Hofmeyr.
“The circumstances surrounding the incident are forming part of the investigation,” said Nkohli.
Police are urging anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect/s to contact a leader of the investigating team on 082 319 8876.
