Police arrested four suspects in Cofimvaba after a delivery bakkie belonging to a hardware store was hijacked on Monday, January 17.
The Isuzu bakkie had been on its way to deliver bricks in Ngcobo.
“As an employee of the hardware store was driving the white bakkie in the direction of Ngcobo, he was stopped by a Polo with four suspects. The driver was taken from the delivery vehicle while one of the suspects drove off in the direction of Cofimvaba,” Captain Lariane Jonker, police spokesperson, said.
She said the Bholothwa visible police gave chase and the bakkie and Polo were recovered in Cofimvaba.
“Four suspects, of which one is a woman, between the ages of 22 and 37 were arrested and will appear before the Cacadu Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, January 19.”
Acting Chris Hani district commissioner, Brigadier Zuziwe Magqashela, applauded the quick response and arrests.
