Detectives in Komani are investigating a
case of murder and have opened an inquest docket after two men died when one was
stabbed while the other was shot near Hewu Taxi Rank on Wednesday, February 16.
According to police spokesperson, Capt. Namhla Mdleleni, a minor was on his way home from school when three suspects
robbed him of his cell phone and clothing.
“The minor quickly reported the incident
to his father. His father then searched for the suspects and identified them,” Mdleleni explained.
After the minor’s father
identified the suspects, one of the suspects allegedly approached them and
stabbed the father to death.
“The minor allegedly drew a firearm from
his father and shot the suspect who then died on the scene.”
Two cases of murder and an
inquest docket are under investigation.
