THE Let’s Talk Komani Forum, with its more than 50 associates, has announced its plans to reclaim Komani and return it to its habitable state.
The group is planning a mass march during the Taking Parliament to the People event, set for October 21 to 25. According to the forum’s spokesperson, Ken Clark, the march is aimed at catching Bhisho’s attention and hopefully be afforded an opportunity to voice their concerns about the state of affairs at the local Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality and other service delivery challenges.
“Back in the day, Komani stood out as a shining beacon in the Border area. We are going to take our town back and restore it to what it should be – a beautiful town where opportunity abounds. A town in which people want to live, where services are delivered to everyone and our infrastructure is well maintained and fully functional,” said Clark.
“We want a safe, clean town in which we can bring up our children – town that cares for all its citizens and that we can proudly call Komani.”
Clark said all they wanted and needed was strong, ethical leadership that had the capacity and capability of turning around a dysfunctional institution, together with the support from across the entire community.
