WITH the forthcoming provincial and national elections on May 18, a councillor in Graaff-Reinet has been nominated for the provincial legislature as well as national parliament.
Councillor Samantha Graham, better known as councillor Sam, became a local councillor in 2011.
She served as a PR councillor in Camdeboo local council (portfolio: committee services), as well in the new Dr Beyers Naudé local government.
The current chief whip of the ANC, councillor A. Booysen, described her possible loss for the municipality as a win for parliament and wished her well in her new role.
The DA’s whip, Councillor Eldon Carolus, said he would always remember her for her 100% dedication.
Graham said that she would always remember the wonderful people of this region and would take their needs and wishes to higher levels not only to access but to address. – REPORTER
