DEAR Chris Hani DM spokesperson, Thobeka Mqamelo.
With reference to your response regarding water issues on page 3 of the Mid-Karoo Express of November 22, 2018:
The response given to the question raised about raw sewage spills into the Fish River, being that blockages are attended to once they emerge, with all due respect, actually is the main concern that needs to be addressed urgently.
What is really required is that CHDM must first and foremost do everything possible to prevent blockages and spillages happening in the first instance, and we would like to know from CHDM what they plan to do in this respect?
Raw sewage spilling into our water courses is a no-no and a disaster and must be prevented at all times, we can ill-afford having a situation where we wait for a blockage to happen first and then in reaction try to clean up the mess! Prevention is imperative ahead of cure.
