THE annual family-friendly Tamboekie Festival is set to rock Queensdustria from Friday, October 25 to Saturday, October 26.

Well-known South African artiste, Lianie May, will take to the stage on the Friday, followed by performances by live band Kirkland, Lance and Nice-O-Nico.

The evening will also include some karaoke fun.

On the Saturday, a Tyronmilas aerobics competition will be challenging the more active festivalgoers.

Other activities will include a talent search competition with DJ Whyte from LukhanjiFM, a funfair, train rides, a kiddies’ play area, ride-on cars, bubble balls, a beer tent and a steakhouse and poultry show, with lots of different chicken breeds on show.

There will also be a variety of food and craft stalls to browse throughout the day.

The entry fee is R50 per adult and R20 for children, which includes entry to all music performances. As a special for the Friday morning, school groups in uniform, who are accompanied by teachers, can enter for R5 per child.
