MEMBERS of the Komani Hiking Club and other hikers recently saw several of kuDubeni villages in Cacadu from a heightened perspective, after they journeyed on a one-day hike on the Bozwana Mountain and to the Bozwana Water Falls.

After being formally established in February this year, Komani Hiking Club held their first public event, which saw more than 60 people showing interest and participating in this unique workout.

One of the founding members of the Komani Hiking Club, Nolubabalo Mtshakazi, said that she was very happy to see people showing an interest in mountain hiking and she said it was time to appreciate nature.

“God gave us nature to use, not abuse it. Our aim is to show the youth, and the community at large, the beauty of the mountains we have around us in the Chris Hani District,” said Nolubabalo.

She is also one of the sweepers of the club and said one of their responsibilities is to take care of first-time hikers to ensure they complete their maiden trail.

Komani Hiking Club’s next event will be climbing Lukhanji Mountain next month.
