Police in Komani are seeking public assistance to identify two deceased men and locate their next of kin following separate incidents in the town.

The South African Police Service (SAPS) is appealing to the public for information following the discovery of the lifeless body of Eunice Louw (54), who was allegedly kidnapped on 9 June.

Her body was discovered on Tuesday, 22 July at about 15:00 near Graaff-Reinet.

According to Captain Marius McCarthy, Communication Officer for SAPS in the Sarah Baartman District, SAPS was informed about a body that had been discovered lying in a ditch along a gravel road leading from Graaff-Reinet to Richmond.

On Thursday, 24 July, the decomposed body was positively identified as Eunice Louw of Midros in Middelburg who was allegedly kidnapped on 9 June.

McCarthy confirmed that a case of murder has been opened by Graaff-Reinet SAPS and that the investigation is ongoing.

Authorities are working to gather more information and determine the circumstances surrounding the discovery.
