ALL the SAB Regional League Stream A and B teams were in action this past weekend, including log leaders Dordrecht Seven Stars and Komani Seven Stars who are in the chase to book play-off spots.
Stream A log leaders in Dordrecht, Seven Stars, got a slender win, beating Cala-based side, Xhalanga Celtic, 1-0.
Thanduxolo Mayekiso’s goal secured the points and took Stars to a one point lead at the top of the standings with a game in hand.
Second placed FC Bhongweni hammered Blue Sonic FC, at home in Cacadu, 3-1 to keep within touching distance of the leaders.
At the bottom of the log, Domestos FC is still languishing without a win this season after seven games.
In Stream B, the Komani side, also called Seven Stars, are leading the pecking order on goal difference.
Over the weekend, at Komani’s Dumpy Adams Sport Complex, the team dropped two points in a goalless draw against Dongwe side MK Academy FC and that point took them to 14 points from seven games.
Second placed Young Minds Development FC, from Ilinge, won 2-1 over Ezibeleni’s Roman Callies FC to move level on points with Seven Stars, with a game in hand, as they have only played six games this season.
Another team from Ilinge, Two For Joy FC, is still struggling at the bottom of the standings with one point from seven games. The newcomers have not tasted a win yet in the SAB Regional League.
