AT the Karoo Christmas Market, which will be held on Saturday, December 14, from 17:00, more than 40 stall holders will convert the heart of Graaff-Reinet into a festive street market.
Somerset Street will be closed off to traffic between Bourke and Cradock Streets, while food stalls will be open for visitors to enjoy dinner and something sweet afterwards. The main focus is on locally produced crafts, and apart from the regular favourites of knitted, sewn and crochet goods, several stalls will be selling handmade Christmas decor and decorations.
Ideal Christmas gifts for all ages can be found at the locally handmade beauty products stalls such as Rachel’s Garden and Magriki, as well as Agavesol.
Visitors and tourists will appreciate the variety of souvenirs on sale, including Country Mouse Design’s 2020 Graaff-Rei-net calendar, T-shirts, magnets, keyrings and The Guide to Graaff-Reinet booklet.
A lineup of well-known local performers will provide live musical entertainment. Entrance to the market is free. Organisers and stall holders urge local B&Bs and guest houses to encourage their guests to come along and see what Graaff-Reinet has to offer.
