TWENTY learners from Gill College took part in the Karoo Athletics Meeting held at Graaff-Reinet on Saturday, February 2.
All the schools in the Karoo sent their athletes to compete.
The following athletes from Gill College performed very well:
Danie van Zyl: 1st in 100m and 200m for boys u.17
C-Jay Blignaut: 1st in 200m for boys u.16
Jessica Henwood: 2nd in discus for girls u.15
Raynardt Geyer: 1st in discus and shotput for boys u.15
Eloise Klopper: 1st in javelin for girls u.17
Dylan Nel: 2nd in high jump for boys u.17
Reece Syce: 2nd in 100m for boys u.19
Liri Botha: 2nd in javelin and discus for girls u.17
Lyabona Hoko: 2nd in shotput and discus for boys u.14
Isiphile Yose: 2nd in discus for boys u.14
Diego Jordaan: 1st in 1500m and 800m for boys u.14
Nipho Williams: 1st in 400m for boys u.14
The names of the athletes chosen for the Karoo athletics team will be announced during the week.
