AERO-BUILD Fitness Club and Projects, in partnership with Jonny’s Gym in Komani, donated school equipment and food to Thembelihle Primary School in Mlungisi Location in Komani on Wednesday last week.
After a successful drive early this year, the founders of the local fitness club, decided to do an aerobics marathon back-to-school event and elected Thembelihle Primary School as the beneficiary of this year.
They decided to do the drive on a much larger scale and roped in the assistance of their gym members, Jonny’s Gym and Sponsors.
Aero-Build Fitness Club and Projects’ Abongile Ndabambi thanked the sponsors of the event and those participated on the marathon.
“I would like to thank all those who participated in the event, and particularly the sponsors, Star Bread, Air Zero Air Conditioning, ANC Chris Hani regional convener, Wongama Gela and Mashampladumza General Trading.
“Some of our members in the club used to attend the school, and we thought it would be special to help them out,” said Ndabambi.
Once the drive was concluded, they dropped off their donations at Thembelihle Primary School.
School principal, EBK Norman, was happy to accept the donations on the day.
“We are so pleased to have clubs such as Aero-Build Fitness Club and Jonny’s Gym (assist us). Surely this donation will manage to close that gap and shed light on our school. We also want to thank all those participated in this event,” said the principal.
The purpose of the event was to collect enough school equipment to lend a helping hand to children in need.
The event was also aimed to encourage people to join the gym.
