THE Executive Mayor of Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality (EMLM), Luleka Gubula, who tested positive for COVID-19, returned to her office on Monday, July 13, after a two-week absence.
In a media statement released on the eve of her return to office, Gubula thanked the EMLM community for all the support and positive messages she had received.
“I am now fully recovered and fit to pick up from where I left off. We have a long way to go in our efforts to minimise infections and the impact of COVID-19. As a government entity we have to keep working to ensure that basic services are delivered unhindered,” said Gubula.
EMLM Councillor, Adele Hendricks, filled the shoes of the executive mayor during her time off.
