Komani police have recovered suspected stolen goods worth
nearly R40 000 during a routine crime prevention and intelligence driven
operation undertaken in Cofimvaba and Komani recently.
Police spokesperson, Captain Lariane Jonker said three
suspects aged between 21 and 35 were arrested in separate incidents.
“A 21-year-old man was arrested when he was found in
possession of a Frontline monitor, a Microsoft keyboard, a genius keyboard and
a HP CPU valued at about R20 000,” Jonker said.
Jonker added that a 35-year-old male was arrested with items
including an HP CPU, a computer mouse and keyboard with an estimated street
value of R10 000. The suspects will appear in the Cofimvaba Magistrate’s Court
soon.
In Komani, she said, a 27-year-old man was arrested in
Newvale in possession of suspected stolen goods.
“It is alleged the suspect sold whiskey and brandy, clothing,
and electrical equipment from a backyard shack. The value of the suspected
stolen property is estimated at about R9 000.”
Jonker said the suspect will appear before the Komani
Magistrate’s Court soon.
