A YOUNG Cradock model, Luyolo Rasmeni, won the Mr Tourism South Africa pageant on May 4.

Rasmeni, was one of two representatives of Cradock’s recently established Refine & Render Model Management modelling school, who represented the town in the pageant, which took place in Johannesburg.

His classmate, Lithemba Tuta, competed in the Mr Teen Tourism section of the competition.

In addition to their individual success, Refine & Render received third place in the most recognised modelling school category.

The contest is held annually at the Protea Hotel in Johannesburg and winners, including Rasmeni, stand a chance to represent South Africa in various international pageants.

They will also be official tourism ambassadors.

Tuta is a Grade 8 learner at J.A. Calata Senior Secondary School in Cradock. In addition to his modelling, he enjoys playing soccer and rugby.

Rasmeni is a fitness model who recently took second place in a competition organised by the Physical Culture Organisation.

He is passionate about health and fitness, and currently runs a boot camp at Lingelihle Stadium, Cradock.

Refine & Render is a pageantry and model management organisation which operates in Cradock and Port Elizabeth.

It also offers pageant preparation services to contestants and organisers such as: mentoring, choreography (routine design and runway techniques), and pageant coaching.
