IT was a great shock to many residents of Cradock when the news of Francesco Colarossi’s tragic death, in an horrific motorbike accident last Sunday, spread through town.
Fondly know by his nickname of Fatty (50), Colarossi had attended a motorbike rally in Grahamstown when the accident happened near Cookhouse when he was on his way home.
Fatty, who had attended Cradock High School, opened his own business, Fatty’s Mechanical, in 2003. He was often praised for his helpful and friendly assistance.
He was the son of Ottavio and Anna-Maria Colarossi, both already deceased and is survived by his wife, Leniel, a son, Franco (18) and a daughter, Michelle.
He also has a one-year-old grandson, Rocco. His brother, Pietro (PC) lives in Knysna and his sister, Maria Steenkamp is from East London.
Francesco’s funeral will be held later today (Thursday) at 11:00 in the Cradock East Dutch Reformed church.
