NOMFUNDO Fetsha, chief financial officer of the Chris Hani District municipality (CHDM), appeared in the Port Elizabeth Commercial Crimes Court on Monday on charges of forgery, theft and fraud.
Fetsha and her co-accused, Mfundo Kwani, as well as his company Mfuraa Projects and General CC, are accused of chanelling a donation of R100 000 for sports equipment for a CHDM youth programme, into the bank account of Mfuraa Projects.
According to the charge sheet, Fetsha neglected to deliver the necessary supporting documents to comply with the Municipal Financial Management Act.
Bail was set at R2 000 each.
Their next court appearance is scheduled for April 5.
