Mlungisi SAPS is investigating an inquest after the bodies
of two minor children were recovered by Cradock and East London Search and
Rescue teams, in a dam at the Army Base in Komani yesterday, January 27.
According to police spokesperson Captain Lariane Jonker, it
is alleged that the two six-year-old children were last seen on January 26 after they went to play in the Army Base’s yard and did not return home.
A search party searched the surrounding area but there was
no sign of the children.
“On Thursday at 09:50 the bodies of a boy and girl were recovered from the dam at the Army Base by Cradock and East London Search and
Rescue,” said Jonker.
“Unfortunately, both children have already passed on.”
