TOMORROW, December 6, will see Jacksons in Komani hosting a the ‘Big Bleed’ Blood Drive on the showroom floor from 09:00 to 17:00.
Donating blood will assist those most in need over the festive season, and will aid in maintaining stores of quality blood to meet the Christmas season demand.
One unit of blood is separated into three components, namely, red blood cells, plasma and platelets; which can in turn save up to three lives, and gives a gift money cannot buy to those, young and old, suffering from a variety of medical ailments and traumas.
Donating blood takes approximately 30 minutes.
With the festive season and holidays almost in full swing, so too is the probability of increased road accidents and the subsequent need for sufficient blood stores for transfusions when needed.
The public is thus urged to give the gift of life this Christmas and partake in tomorrow’s blood drive.
The target on the day is to acquire 50 units of blood. Jacksons is located at 2 Sprigg Street, Komani.
