The regional executive officer of South African Football Association (SAFA) in the Chris Hani region, Nosipho Benyane has announced the postponement of all SAB Regional League games for the Easter weekend.
With two rounds of fixtures still to be played in the SAB Regional League before the season ends, SAFA Chris Hani released a statement on April 5 to inform the public about the postponement.
“Please be advised that all league matches will be delayed this weekend since it is Easter week and league games will resume on April 15.”
This break comes after a busy weekend for SAB Regional League teams who are hoping to win their stream to book a place in the regional playoffs.
On April 1, Ezibeleni Stadium hosted a double header with Streams C2 top three teams participating in the two games.
Ezibeleni’s Roman Callies vanished from the top position after playing a goalless draw against third place AFC Komani Stars.
Ilinge’s Young Minds Development FC are now log leaders of Stream C2 after beating Holy Kings of Ezibeleni 2-0 in the second game.
Both Young Minds and Callies have difficult fixtures in their last two games of the season.
Valgas could decide who will win Stream C2.
Their last two games are against Stream contenders Young Minds and Roman Callies.
In the other Stream, Dongwe’s MK Academy returned to the top position after beating on form Golden Chiefs of Ntabethemba and they lead by two points with both teams left with one game each.
This means last season SAFA Chris Hani Regional champions MK Academy need a draw in their last game to seal their victory in Stream C1.
