A man (43) is expected to appear in the Hofmeyr Magistrate’s Court on April 8 for his alleged involvement in the murder of his mother, Nolungephi Stuurman (73).
According to police spokesperson Captain Namhla Mdleleni, on April 6 at around 10:00, police were summoned to a complaint of murder at a house in Zwide Location, Hofmeyr.
She said that at the scene, police found the lifeless body of Stuurman, an elderly woman.
“A team of detectives started working on the murder case, and followed up on some leads,” said Mdleleni.
She further said that on April 7, police arrested Stuurman’s son for his alleged involvement in her murder.
Mdleleni said that the suspect is due to appear in the Hofmeyr Magistrate’s Court on April 8 on a charge of murder.
