THE driving licence testing centre at the Beyers Naudé Local Municipality (BNLM) has been closed.
An audit revealed the number of staff required to be non-compliant with the Department of Transport’s standard requirements.
“The municipality is tending to compliance requirements and will communicate when application for drivers’ and learners’ licences will be reopened,” municipal mana-ger Dr Edward Rankwana said.
BNLM has said that licence applicants can visit the Willowmore offices in the interim.
However, the renewal of drivers’ licences and vehicle registration will not be affected, and residents can still acquire these from the Graaff-Reinet Traffic Department’s offices.
