THE Ilinge Zone Local Football Association recently elected six new members to represent the executive committee of the association.
Ntsebenzo Tsholoba, a long-serving member of Ilinge Zone and former secretary, has been appointed as the new chairperson – taking over from Melikhaya Ntenetyana.
Tsholoba’s vision is to accelerate the capacity of the association, as well as to help build referees and coaches in the region.
“They saw my potential and know that I am a hard worker,” he said. “I will focus on increasing the number of developed players incorporated in district teams.”
New vice-chairperson, Lindile Gatyeni, said, “I want to motivate the community of Ilinge informal settlement to be more involved in the game of soccer.
“We want to uplift the standard of the game in the community by keeping up with SAFA standards in all aspects of the game, including coaches, match officiating and team management courses. As a committee we furthermore want to minimise crime and drug and alcohol abuse in the community by incorporating the police into our activities.”
Ntombi Mdlankomo was elected as secretary, Thandisisle Jada as deputy secretary, Thabo Gontsana as treasurer and Sabelo Mxotwa as an additional member.
