A Komani businessman has been arrested for allegedly dealing in drugs, following an intelligence driven operation which included the local K9 dog unit on Wednesday, October 20.

According to police spokesperson Captain Laraine Jonker, the 52-year-old suspect was arrested after being found in possession of drugs worth thousands of rands.

“It is alleged that the suspect, a local business owner was arrested after he was found in possession of 5g of Tik (also known as crystal methamphetamine) and 15 Mandrax tablets. An undisclosed amount of money was also confiscated from the suspect and the street value of the drugs is estimated at about R2300.00,” Jonker said.

The accused will appear on charges of dealing in drugs in the Komani Magistrates Court soon, Jonker added.
