AMAVARARA-Coach Vuyisani Mangaliso was over the moon with his charges bagging all three points after 1-0 win against Bizana Pondo Chiefs at the Dumpy Adams Sports Complex in Komani on Saturday afternoon in an ABC Motsepe League game.

The home side negated and overturned a brief surge from the visitors, who were quick on their counter attacks early in the first half to pose a threat to the home side.

Amavarara scored their solitary goal via striker, Athenkosi Tonisi, who scored just outside the box to give Amavarara the lead.

“We have been complaining about scoring and conceding silly goals in our past few games especially here at home. I am happy that today we scored and defended our lead throughout the match and closed year 2021 with a win,” said Mangaliso

Bizana Pondo Chiefs’ boss. Tshepo Motsoeneng. has spoken positively of Vuyisani Mangaliso whom he coached at Tornado before he roped him into his technical team as an assistant.

“Look we threw everything to them, but we did not score; you saw the chances we missed in the first ten minutes of the game. But I am very happy to see him growing in his coaching, I always believed in him; that is why I made him my assistant at Tornado, and we formed a great combination. Amavarara are a great team and they showed that today,” said Motsoeneng.

Amavarara remain in 3rd place in the ABC Motsepe League Stream A log standings after the win with 12 points after 7 games while Bizana Pondo Chiefs surrendered first place to SA Spear of The Nation who had beaten Amavarara homeboys Seven Stars 3-1 in Mount Ayliff on the same day.

Newcomers Seven Stars are still languishing second from bottom with only one win this season from seven games.
