The Dr SB Radebe Foundation, in partnership with The Black Ryno Gym and Komani Cycling Team, will be hosting a sports cycle race, which will take place in Komani on Saturday, January 29.
The cycle race will start at the Revelation Spiritual Home in Komani, next to Hi-Q Lukhanji Mall and the finish line will be at Sandringham Sports Grounds.
Since 2013, The DR SB Radebe Foundation has initiated numerous projects and hosted various events, which are structured to benefit disadvantaged members of the community and the youth in particular.
These projects and events include, but are not limited to, Sports Development, Youth Development, Education, Employment Creation, Job Placements, Developing Entrepreneurs, Community Upliftment, Socio-economic Development and Life Style and wellness Programmes.
“It is an honour to have this kind of race in our town Komani and be involved. This kind of race is known for its fun, festival-like atmosphere,” says Tallman Swartbooi of Komani Cycling Team.
He is confident that hosting the event will demonstrate to the COUNTRY that Chris Hani District, as a region, is capable of accommodating future top cycling events.
The race will also include male and female cyclists and althetes from different sporting codes.
Even spectators who know nothing about the sport can enjoy the hyperactive action on display at the race. However, a little information about the sport will contribute to their appreciation.
Swartbooi also said they are honoured to have The Dr SB Radebe Foundation helping with the race which is looking for a way for the community to stay in shape.
