Approximately 1 000 community members have gathered at the Hexagon in Carthcart Road as day two of the protest continued on January 27.
As previously reported by the Komani-Karoo Express, residents in the Komani area have been left frustrated with the Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality’s (EMLM) power outages which has seen them being without electricity for nine to 16 days at a time.
According to police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, businesses in the CBD volunteered to close shop in anticipation of the gathering.
