Operation Vuthu Hawe yields positive results with 15 suspects arrested in Chris Hani District

SAPS members continue efforts to prevent and detect crime yielded positive results within the Chris Hani District over the weekend.  

According to police spokesperson, Captain Namhla Mdleleni, the operations include VCPs, high visibility, stop and search and monitoring liquor outlets around the district. 

A total of 15 suspects were arrested around the following station precinct:  

  • Cofimvaba – five suspects were arrested in dealing with drugs

  • Dodrecht – three suspects were arrested in dealing in drugs

  • Middleburg – two suspects were arrested for drunken driving

  • Mlungisi – one suspect was arrested in dealing in drugs, and two were arrested for selling liquor without licence   

  • Komani – two suspects were arrested in dealing in drugs 

Mdleleni said police also confiscated dangerous weapons.  

“All arrested suspects will appear at various courts on September 26,” said Mdleleni.

District Commissioner Major General Rudolph Adolph welcomed the arrests done by foot soldiers.  

He thanked the members for their commitment and dedication in making sure that our communities are safe.
