A 34-year-old man has been arrested for his alleged girlfriend’s murder after the body of Zintle Takane (24) was found buried in a grave in KwaMaqoma (Fort Beaufort) on June 4.
According to police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Siphokazi Mawisa, Takane was last seen on May 31, at about 21:00 with her boyfriend in Mike Valley, KwaMaqoma.
“It is alleged that she left with her boyfriend in his white Mercedes-Benz. That was the last time anyone had seen or heard from her,” said Mawisa.
She said that on June 4, four days after Takane was last seen, her body was found buried in a grave in KwaMaqoma.
Mawisa said the investigation has changed to murder.
She further said that Takane’s boyfriend was arrested for her alleged murder and that he will appear at the Fort Beaufort Magistrate Court on June 6.
