ENGCOBO – A 41 and 49-year-old suspects will appear before Ngcobo Magistrate’s Court today, 4 March 2026, for allegations of possession of an unlicensed firearm, ammunition, and a stolen vehicle.
According to SAPS spokesperson Captain Yolisa Mgolodela, the duo was arrested by members attached to Chris Hani Tactical Response Team (TRT), Komani Dog Unit (K9), and Engcobo detectives.

“It is alleged that on Monday, 2 March, Chris Hani District SAPS received information about a robbery that took place between Komani and Dodrecht where two foreign nationals were robbed of their money,” she said.
Mgolodela added that it is also reported that one of the victims sustained a gunshot wound and was rushed to hospital for treatment.
“After the ordeal, the suspects fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money in a white double-cab Isuzu bakkie with GP registration plates,” she said. “The bakkie was spotted on R61 next to Polile township and was stopped.”
A 9mm pistol with a serial number filed off, ammunition, liquor, cash believed to be that robbed from the victims, and mobile phones belonging to the victims were recovered during their search. “After circulation, the car was found to have been reported stolen at Khayelitsha in November 2023 and was also seized,” she said.
The duo is appearing before Engcobo Magistrate’s Court today, 4 March.
