Graaff-Reinet Raptors MMA Club caps off ‘remarkable year’ with awards ceremony

GRAAFF-REINET – The Graaff-Reinet Raptors Mixed Martial Arts Club recently had their end-of-year function during which the following deserving students were awarded annual trophies:

  • Grace Kitching: Champion of Champions
  • Ethan Panies: Best Basics
  • Zayden Joseph: Progression Pioneer Award (Junior)
  • Arno van der Merwe: Progression Pioneer Award (Senior)
  • Sinead Christoffels and Chloe-Anne Fourie: Women Warriors
  • Darius Els: Enduring Loyalty and Commitment Award (Junior)
  • Joe Gildenhuys: Enduring Loyalty and Commitment Award (Senior)
  • Akeem Christoffels: Little Lion Heart
  • Arné Oosthuizen: Lion Heart

Sensei Aletta van den Bosch said, “It was a truly remarkable year for the Graaff-Reinet Raptors.”

“The year included everything from regular training sessions to intense ones, with students even receiving their Presidential Colours!”

Van den Bosch expressed her deep appreciation for the support of her spouse, Mieke van den Bosch, throughout the year.

She also thanked every parent and student who contributed to making this year so exciting and successful.

“I know 2026 is going to be just as big,” she said.
