Home Affairs offices across South Africa will open their doors this weekend to help people apply for and collect Smart IDs ahead of Voter Registration Weekend.

Offices open on Saturday and Sunday

All Home Affairs offices nationwide will be open from 08:00 to 17:00 on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 June.

The weekend opening is aimed at making it easier for South Africans to get their identity documents sorted before they register to vote.

More than 370 000 Smart IDs waiting to be collected

The Department of Home Affairs says more than 370 000 Smart IDs are ready and waiting to be picked up. If you have already applied for a Smart ID, this weekend is a good time to go and collect it.
