Lukas Calitz from Hermanus Highschool delivered a commanding performance at the American Express National Club Championships in Gqeberha last week, claiming victory in the boys u-16 singles final with a convincing 6-3, 6-1 triumph over his opponent.
The talented teenager didn’t stop there, adding a doubles title to his collection when he and his partner advanced to victory in the u.16 Boys Doubles after their final opponents withdrew from the match. “Well done on this brilliant achievement Lukas, Hermanus is very proud of you,” Hermanus Highschool posted on their Facebook page. Calitz’s success comes at one of South Africa’s most significant tennis tournaments, formerly known as the TSA Amex Super 8.
