Residents of De Kelders in Gansbaai were hot under the collar after experiencing water loss.
According to the Overstrand Municipality, pressure loggers will be installed on the water network in De Kelders to determine the average pressure in the system in the first week of September.
Overstrand Executive Mayor Dr Annelie Rabie said this decision was prompted after complaints from several residents in the De Kelders suburb who experienced water loss due to pipe breaks on their properties.
She said: “The service provider who was appointed to install the pressure loggers will generate a report over a two-week period and present their findings in October to the relevant community members as requested. The projected cost of this exercise is R159 431, excluding VAT.”
The public will be notified of the exact date, time, and venue of the planned results presentation.
