The Western Cape Government Department of Infrastructure, in collaboration with the Overstrand Municipality’s Local Economic Development (LED), invites emerging contractors from the Overstrand for a pre-tender training programme in Hermanus.
The purpose of the training programme, said the municipality, is to upskill emerging contractors in tendering skills, enhance their knowledge about the tendering process when tendering for any construction projects in the future, become a better entrepreneur and manage a business successfully.
The training, which starts in September, will be for a period of 22 days, split into 15 days’ class training and seven days’ assessment.
“Emerging contractors must take note the training is offered free of charge, but they must sacrifice their time as no stipend will be payable, but lunch will be provided,” said Overstrand Municipal Manager Dean O’Neill.
Those interested are encouraged to apply for the training programme by submitting the following certified and valid documents for pre-qualification:
· Registration with the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC);
· CIDB registration – Grades 1 to 4 CE or GB (Note: active membership);
· SARS tax compliance;
· Registered on the Central Supplier Database (CSD);
· Proof of highest school qualification (Certificate or letter on schools’ letterhead);
· Proof of residence of the owner of the business;
· Letter of commitment to attend the training for the 22-day period.
Applications close on Wednesday 16 August 2023.
