The new office bearers and portfolio representatives of the Hermanus Business Chamber were elected at an Executive Committee meeting on 10 March at the Windsor Hotel. In front are the new Deputy chairperson Jana Smith (Harcourts), chairperson Marc de Maudave Bestel (Hermanus Brewery) and treasurer Vic Barnard (CMV Accountants). Behind: Advocate Raé Niewenhuis, Gideon Serfontein, Karin de Bruin, Dr. André du Randt Louw, Arina Fyfer, Martin Delport, Soné Kuhn, Hamish Hofmeyr, Dr André van den Berg, Fikiswa Xgamesi and Pieter Botha. Absent: Richard Kotze, Riaan van Zyl and Adéle Nortjé. The executive members have dedicated themselves to serve certain portfolios, some aligned to the Overstrand Municipality’s portfolios and others on request from business owners. They will be formalised during a strategy session and have great plans for the way forward. De Maudave Bestel said: “We are committed to making a difference to benefit the local economy.”
