Hermanus police are investigating a case of reckless and negligent driving after a motorist crashed her vehicle into the entrance of Gateway Spar, leaving one shopper injured. Captain Fadila September, spokesperson for Hermanus police, reported the incident occurred at approximately 13:05 on Thursday 20 July. “It is alleged the driver lost control of the vehicle, which stopped in front of the shop’s door,” she said. “The driver was still in the vehicle. A shopper was lying on his stomach outside the shop. The driver and the injured shopper were taken to hospital and received treatment.” September added the driver had a valid driver’s licence.
