The picturesque Overberg village Genadendal was founded in 1738 as a Moravian mission station, the oldest in South Africa. It is also home to the well-known Genadendal Brass Band. Seated in front are Heinrich Januarie with his daughter Riley Loff, the little Christmas Elf, standing next to him, Addinal Lamohr and Wessel van der Heyde. Standing are Leahan Petrus, Father Christmas (Fernel van der Berg), Reuben Talliard, Esra Davids, Basil Carelse, Dawid Wildschut, Yada van der Heyde and Thersius Neelse.
