Altogether 2 607 learners from Grade R to 3 from schools in Gansbaai (Laerskool Gansbaai and Masakhane, Stanford (Okkie Smuts, Hoopland Academy and Die Bron), Hermanus (Hermanus Primary and Lukhanyo Primary) and Kleinmond (Laerskool Kleinmond) learnt more about how to use water supply wisely and caring for it properly.

The puppet show is part of Overstrand Municipality’s awareness drive to encourage the little ones to become responsible adults and warriors for the environment with the assistance of the colourful characters of Story Team.

Blop the Blue drop emphasised the importance of the conservation of every drop of water.

It was great to see how the learners participated with enthusiasm, learning the water cry and assisting characters to destroy the pollution protagonist Chipo.

The puppet show, done in Afrikaans, English and isiXhosa, is taken to primary schools across the Overstrand region.
