Democratic Alliance activist Hannie Morgan, Carol Carver and Overstrand Executive Mayor Dr Annelie Rabie took to the streets along with other councillors and party activists as part of a nationwide protest calling on national government to put a stop to load shedding. Groups of people armed with posters stood at various points across the Overberg, while thousands of others marched to Luthuli House in Johannesburg or the ANC’s provincial head office in Cape Town. Some of the posters read: “Power to the people”, ”Take the power back”, ”Load shedding is killing jobs” and “Enough is enough”.Photos: Bianca Du Plessis
