On Monday bodyboarders participating in the IBC Bodyboarding World Tour in Onrus hit the waves after the first day (Saturday 16 September) had been cancelled due to the massive swells after the recent storm.
Not only will our local hero Tristan Roberts start in round 1 Heat 1 with fellow bodyboarders John Catlin and Chad Brookstein, but multiple Brazilian women’s champion Maylla Venturin will also show off her talent at this prestigious event.
“It is my first time in South Africa and it is amazing,” Maylla said on Facebook.
The Walker Bay Pro will be held until 25 September in Onrus followed by the South African Bodyboarding Championships from 1-5 October also in Onrus.
The organisers invite all the residents and those who are interested in the sport, to follow this event in Onrus.
