The National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) held an Open Day on Saturday to showcase their life saving operations. Volunteers were on hand to answer all the questions and gave visitors a peak into what they do every day. The NSRI is a voluntary non-profit organization in South Africa tasked with saving lives through drowning prevention. It operates 41 bases comprising coastal stations and inland stations on dams. There are crews on standby at all hours. Pictured here, from Melbourne Australia, are Cathy, Michelle and Lev Yakovis with one of the volunteers Bernice Janse van Rensburg from Hermanus.
