Despite the provincial library information management system (SLIMS) still being offline Overstrand Municipality’s libraries are open and ready to assist their bookworms.
Until the SLIMS system is back online, members may borrow a limited number of books over a certain period of time.
Library material can be renewed over the phone.
As an alternative, they encourage library members to download the LIBBY app onto their smart phone, tablet, laptop or computer and sign up to borrow eBooks and audiobooks at no charge.
To download the LIBBY App, go to your phone’s app store, search for Overdrive’s Libby App (overdrive.com/apps/libby/) and follow the instructions to borrow the title you want.
Non-members who want to access the e-resources, must first join their local library and will be able to make use of the mobile service after five working days.
