Students of the SA JKA Hermanus dojo recently articpated in the SA JKA National Championships in Johannesburg. Sensei Ronnie Knott reports that students of the Riviersonderend dojo also participated in the event that was held in Ellis Park Arena. He added that students of the two dojos excelled in both the Novice (white to red belts) and Elite Divisions (Brown and Black belts) bringing home 29 medals in total. “National Colours Selection was presented to seven of our novice students and 12 of our elite students. The national Elite Team was selected to represent SA JKA at the first Indo Pacific Cup to be held in Mauritius in September,” he stated. Knott was selected as Senior National Team Manager and will also take part in the first Indo Pacific Cup next month with Sensei Neil Olwagen (SA JKA, Stanford, Kleinmond and Riviersonderend), Sensei Kokkie Burger, Sensei Marelise Brummer, C Saayman, Alberto Olwagen, Zakiah Muller, Eli Tyers, Dawid Badenhorst, R Oostehuyse and Thomas Bolton.
